How long will I stay under water while scuba diving?

30 – 40 min between 0-12mtrs is the average time. But also depends on your air consumption. Your air is monitored and our Instructors are always by your side.

I heard that I should not take a flight right after I finish my dive. Why ?

The air we breathe when we dive is the same air we breathe on land. It is dryer and cleaner air. 78% Nitrogen, 21% oxygen 0.04% Carbon-di-oxide and other inert gases. Only oxygen & carbon-di-oxide is used and expelled by our bodies. While diving, the increase in pressure underwater cause our bodies to absorb Nitrogen. If we are safe divers we will end the dive with little to no Nitrogen in our bodies. But as an added precaution we do not expose ourselves to a low pressure (at altitude or in an aeroplane) because if there is some residual nitrogen in our bodies it expand causing pain and discomfort. Therefore we do not dive for 12 hrs after a single dive and 18hrs after multiple dives.

My prescription (power) for my glasses is -5 can I wear my glasses?

We have prescription masks, you need not wear your glasses. If you wear lenses please inform your Instructor.

I wear contacts, will that be a problem?

Wearing contacts during a dive is absolutely fine. Just make that if and when clearing your mask your eyes remain shut. You don’t want to pose a contact mid dive.

Am I allowed to dive with breast implants or while I'm on my monthly cycle?

Diving with breast implants is absolutely safe. Breast implants are filled either with saline or silicone gel. Both have similar densities to salt water and neither will compress noticeably at depth. Just like the blood in our bodies, these fluids are considered as incompressible for the purpose of diving.

Yes, dive instructors routinely dive on all days of their monthly cycle. It is absolutely safe to do so. For the purpose of comfort however we suggest that you skip diving on days that are particularly painful or uncomfortable. And No! Sharks pose no threat to menstruating divers!!
